About Srikurmam Temple
Srikurmam, 15 km from Srikakulam, is the rare temple where Vishnu is worshipped in his Kurma (tortoise) avatar. Its 108 single-stone pillars, murals and inscriptions date to the Eastern Ganga and Chola periods; the temple tank hosts a colony of star tortoises.
