About Arasavalli Sun Temple
The Suryanarayana Swamy temple at Arasavalli, 3 km from Srikakulam town, is among the very few Sun temples in India where worship continues daily. Its 7th-century origins are credited to the Kalinga kings; twice a year, around the equinoxes, the rising sun's rays are said to fall on the deity's feet through the gateways.
