About Prakasam Barrage

Built in 1957 on the site of an 1855 anicut, the barrage carries the road from Vijayawada to the Guntur side and creates a lake-like stretch of the Krishna. In the evening its lit arches, the river walk and the boats to Bhavani Island make it the city's favourite outing.
