About Mangalagiri Panakala Narasimha Temple
On the hill above Mangalagiri, the Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is offered panakam — jaggery water — poured into the deity's mouth, of which exactly half is said to be accepted. The foot-hill temple has one of the tallest gopurams in the state, and the town's handloom shops are on the same street.
