What changed in the 2022 reorganisation, which towns are headquarters, and how to find your district.

In April 2022 Andhra Pradesh doubled its districts from 13 to 26, broadly one per parliamentary constituency, so that administration would be closer to people. If your address, ration card or land record still says 'Guntur' or 'Chittoor', it may now belong to a district that did not exist five years ago.
The 13 new districts
- Parvathipuram Manyam (from Vizianagaram & Srikakulam) — HQ Parvathipuram
- Alluri Sitharama Raju (from Visakhapatnam & East Godavari) — HQ Paderu
- Anakapalli (from Visakhapatnam) — HQ Anakapalli
- Kakinada (from East Godavari) — HQ Kakinada
- Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema (from East Godavari) — HQ Amalapuram
- Eluru (from West Godavari & Krishna) — HQ Eluru
- NTR (from Krishna) — HQ Vijayawada
- Palnadu (from Guntur) — HQ Narasaraopet

- Tirupati (from Chittoor & Nellore) — HQ Tirupati
What it means in practice
Your Sachivalayam, MeeSeva centre and mandal office are unchanged; the Collectorate you deal with may have moved closer. Land records on Mee Bhoomi are listed by the new district. Vehicle registration series and pin codes did not change.
Regions
We group the 26 into five regions on this site: Uttarandhra (Srikakulam to ASR), Godavari (Kakinada to Eluru), Krishna–Guntur (Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu), South Coast (Prakasam, Nellore) and Rayalaseema (Tirupati to Kurnool). Explore all 26 on the district map.
